Nadra bus stand should be declared Bhopal bus terminus which will streamline the operation of buses in the State capital and the buses plying from ISBT and Palash hotel for Indore should start from Halalpur bus stand. This was demanded by a group of bus operators in a meeting held with the Transport department and Traffic police officials at the police control room here on Wednesday.
The bus operators also demanded that the taxi services for Indore from Hamidia road, Bhopal railway station and Nadra should be operated from Halalpura.
The point raised against operating the buses from the defined bus stops was the inconvenience faced by the passengers. Giving example the bus operator claimed that if an Indore passenger wants to reach Surendra place late night he would not be able to find bus to reach the hotel.
The Deputy Transport Commissioner GM Pathak, RTO of Bhopal Ml Soni and Additional Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Monika Shukla were present in the meeting.
The officials told the operators that they should register their permit at specified bus stands and failing to register should attract penalty.
Opposing the suggestions the bus operators told that the instructions would be followed by them but the rules should be laid keeping in mind comfort and convenience of the passengers. For the convenience of the passengers all the buses form all the routes should be allowed to be operated from Nadra Bus stand.
During the meeting the officials told the bus operators that the buses would operate from five bus stands ISBT, Nadra, Putli Ghar, Halalpur and Jawahar Chowk.
