Indian Oil Day celebrated by Paradip Oil Refinery

The Indian Oil Corporation ltd (IOCl) Paradip Oil Refinery project celebrated the Indian Oil Day on Sunday.

The Indian Oil Company ltd (IOCl), which was established in 1959 as an oil marketing entity, was renamed as the Indian Oil Corporation ltd (IOCl) on September 1, 1964 following its merger with the Indian Refineries ltd, which had been set up in 1958. The IOCl is ranked at the 88th position in the Fortune Global-500 listing in the year 2013.

A function was also held at the Paradip Oil Refinery site on Monday. A blood donation camp was held by the IOCl in collaboration with the Cuttack District Red Cross Blood Bank, which was inaugurated by Executive Director in-charge of Paradip Oil Refinery project Sanjiv Singh and where 81 units of blood were collected. A free health camp was also held at Govidnapur and medicines were distributed free of cost as part of the company’s CSR activities.

Singh also distributed 63 sewing machines to the trainees on the completion of their training. In the evening, a cultural programme was held in which Paradip Port Trust Chairman Sudhanshu Sekhara Mishra, IFFCO Executive Director MK Gandhi and PPl vice-president (Operations) KM Joshi participated as guests. IOCl Deputy Manager (Corporate Communications) Sangram Mishra along with other employees of the project conducted all the programmes.
