Ex education minister, office bearer suspended

State BJP has suspended former Education Minister Baijnath Ram and an office bearer of the party’s SC Cell Sima Roy. Both have been suspended following the allegations made by Roy against Ram.

The lady claimed that she was staying with as Ram’s wife for years. She on Saturday had also alleged Ram for leaving her alone at a hospital in Delhi and about his relations with another woman.

“BJP has also formed a three member committee to enquire into the matter and submit a report to the State party president,” said State BJP spokesperson Pradeep Sinha. They have also been instructed by State President Ravindra Rai to give clarifications on the issue as soon as possible, Sinha added.

The three member committee will be headed by BJP leader Om Singh along with Usha Pandey and Kedar Hazra as members. “As I am at my constituency, I have no idea what is to be done in this case. I will reach Ranchi tomorrow and discuss on the matter and start the process,” said Hazra.

Ealier, Ram on Sunday tried to settle issues with Roy. The former minister reached Delhi and had a long meeting with the lady. According to Roy, Ram dumped her at a hospital in South Extension area as she was undergoing treatment over there. She then went to Jharkhand Bhawan, where the former Minister was staying since April 22. She alleged that they had gone together to Vaishnav Devi and Haridwar. and fell ill while coming back. Ram in the meantime, left her in the hospital and went to Banaras which was not acceptable to Sima Roy.
