Jagatsinghpur: Odisha High Court Judge BK Misra inaugurated a District and Sessions Judge Court at the Collectorate complex here on Friday. He said a longstanding demand of the local bar association and people has been fulfilled. Health Minister Damodar Rout, MP Bibhu Prasad Tarai, MlAs Bishnu Das and Prasanta Muduli, Cuttack District Judge Satrughna Pujari and newly-appointed Jagatsinghpur District Judge GC Behera also spoke at the meeting presided over by district Collector SK Mallick.

Criminal held under NSA in Baleswar

Baleswar: An antisocial involved in several cases, including rape, murder, dacoity and extortion, has been detained under the NSA on Friday. History sheeter Susanta Das (32) under Sadar police station limits was involved in as many as about two dozen of cases.

One killed, 1 hurt in B’swar road mishap

Baleswar: A youth was killed and another sustained injury in a road accident near Remuna Golai on Friday. The deceased pillion rider was identified as Dula Murmu (13), while Ratha Hansda, the rider of a motor bike, was injured and was being treated at the District Headquarters Hospital. The duo was going in their bike when Murmu fell off and was run over by a truck coming from behind. The truck driver was arrested.
