A violent assault was reported at Orchid Majesty Colony on Airport Road in the state capital, as over a dozen armed goons attacked a young man, and the incident was captured on video, which surfaced late Wednesday night.
The footage shows the assailants forcibly opening the colony's gate, entering the premises, and creating chaos. By Thursday morning, the police had registered an FIR under charges of rioting and assault. Based on CCTV footage, five youths have been detained, and the police are actively searching for the others involved.
According to SI Kanhaiyalal Yadav, the conflict began when a group of youths were drinking alcohol near the colony gate. Residents objected, and an argument broke out. The situation escalated when nearly two dozen goons entered the colony armed with sticks and began fighting.
One resident was injured after being struck on the head with a wooden stick. The injured man was rushed to safety, and the police were alerted immediately, though the attackers fled before they arrived.
The video footage clearly shows the attackers brutally beating the young man with sticks and attacking several other residents who were trying to flee to their homes. The miscreants caused chaos in the colony for nearly an hour. Around six people sustained injuries in the attack. Anand Tahlani, the complainant, filed a report with the police, and multiple police teams conducted raids until 5 am in search of the suspects.
