Delhi Congress has demanded Gupta to include a “special package” for the development of the villages, rural areas and unauthorised colonies. The party said that over the past 11 years, no development had been carried out in these areas to force people to lead a hellish life. The Delhi Assembly Session will start on March 24 and the budget will be presented on March 25.
A general discussion on the Budget is planned for March 26, with its consideration and passage scheduled for March 27. The session will conclude on March 28 with discussions on private members’ bills and resolutions. The Secretariat noted that the session may be extended if required.
Delhi Congress President Devender Yadav, in a press conference on Saturday, said that the previous AAP government had used the people of villages, rural areas and the unauthorised/slum clusters as mere vote banks without doing any sort of development ever since AAP came to power. He said that even drinking water is a luxury in these colonies as people starve for water with the Delhi Jal Board authorities keeping a blind to the plight of the people.
