Chief Minister Mohan Yadav extended his best wishes to the people of Madhya Pradesh, especially the Sindhi community, on the occasion of the Cheti Chand Mahaparva. The event was held on Sunday at Tower Chowk in Ujjain. The Chief Minister stated that Cheti Chand is a major festival of the Sindhi community, celebrated as the birth anniversary of Lord Jhulelal, who is revered as the deity of water. Renowned actor Govinda was also present as a distinguished guest at the event.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed his hope that this auspicious festival of Cheti Chand would bring happiness, prosperity, and peace to everyone’s life through the blessings of Lord Jhulelal. He highlighted that Ujjain is the city of Lord Mahakal and Lord Krishna, a hub of art, spiritual growth, and culture. He also extended his greetings for the Cheti Chand and Chaitra Pratipada New Year during the ongoing Vikramotsav celebrations in the city of Samrat Vikramaditya.
Dr. Yadav emphasized that this festival teaches the values of love, harmony, and social unity and prayed for the continued blessings of Lord Jhulelal on the state and the nation. He expressed his vision for Madhya Pradesh to reach new heights of progress, brotherhood, and prosperity.
The Chief Minister also announced that livestock farmers (Gau-Palak) would be given bonuses for increasing milk production, which would help to boost their income. Furthermore, he mentioned that places associated with Lord Krishna’s life are being developed as pilgrimage sites under the ‘Shri Krishna Pathey’ initiative.
Member of Parliament Anil Firojiya also extended his wishes on the Chaitra Pratipada New Year and Cheti Chand Festival. Actor Govinda prayed for happiness, peace, and prosperity for all, seeking the blessings of Lord Mahakal and Lord Jhulelal. He also wished Chief Minister Dr. Yadav success in combining development with spirituality.
Yadav lit the ceremonial lamp along with other guests to inaugurate the program. He also hoisted the flag and commenced a social rally organized for Cheti Chand.
The event was attended by MLA Anil Jain Kaluheda, Mayor Mukesh Tatwal, City Representative Sanjay Agrawal, Municipal Corporation Speaker Kalavati Yadav, Santosh Lalwani, Mahesh Pariyani, several public representatives, and social workers.
