Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s Clean Delhi campaign is in full swing with civic agencies working to clean streets, roads, and public spaces while removing illegal posters and banners from government properties. As part of the cleanliness drive, streets, lanes, flyovers, and public spaces of Delhi are being cleaned. Special cleanliness drives are also being conducted at temples and other religious sites.
The chief minister issued directives for the campaign earlier this week. As part of the campaign, all streets, roads, flyovers, and public spaces are being cleaned, with a special focus on removing illegal banners and posters from government properties. Marking the Hindu New Year, the government launched a large-scale cleanliness drive, ensuring that every street, lane, and public space is well-maintained.
The drive is also focusing on religious places and temples, ensuring a thorough sanitation process. Officials have been instructed to ensure visible implementation of these measures so that citizens can experience the direct impact of the initiative, it said.
Rekha Gupta emphasised that cleanliness is a collective responsibility and reiterated the government’s commitment to transforming Delhi into a clean and beautiful city.
The Chief Minister has issued clear instructions to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), mandating that all officials conduct daily field inspections across different wards. Additionally, she has emphasized that any irregularities identified during these inspections must be addressed promptly and effectively.
Authorities have been instructed to take strict action under the Property Defacement Act against violators who put up illegal posters and hoardings, it added.
Officials have been asked to take immediate corrective measures for any irregularities found during inspections.
The government has assured that all officers and staff will be held accountable for maintaining cleanliness across the city.
Additionally, concerned departments have prepared a time-bound action plan for the removal of debris from roadsides and the cleaning of drains and sewage lines. Various agencies are working in coordination to make Delhi a cleaner, greener, and well-organised city, the statement added.
