Women’s empowerment top priority: Rekha Gupta at The Pioneer, CRF event

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday said women empowerment remains the top priority of her Government and the Narendra Modi-led Centre, as she addressed The Pioneer-Chintan Research Foundation (CRF) ‘Sashakt Nari-Viksit Bharat’ Women Empowerment Conference in the national Capital.
The CM said the conference aimed to take firm and practical steps for a brighter future for women. Through a virtual address as the special guest of honour, Delhi CM greeted all distinguished guests, accomplished women and young participants attending the event and said that empowering women means giving them equal and better opportunities in every field. She added that it is not limited to welfare schemes. It is about leadership, dignity and self-reliance, she added.
Delhi CM further said women’s empowerment has always been a key focus of her Government and of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Referring to the Nari Shakti Mission, she said the initiative aims to ensure equal participation of women in all sectors.
The event was inaugurated by Union Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi as the chief guest, while Adani Foundation Chairperson Priti Adani was the guest of honour. The Chief Minister said her Government has completed one year in Delhi, and in this duration, several women-focused schemes have been implemented in the capital.

She credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the support of Union Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi.
She said the Government is firmly committed to ensuring respect and safety for women. Equal opportunity, she said, is a clear promise of the administration.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the conference would inspire women who have brought change through courage and determination. She urged everyone to take a pledge to take the Nari Shakti Mission to greater heights.
“Every woman should become self-reliant. Every woman should live with dignity. Every woman should lead in her chosen field,” she said.
She also thanked The Pioneer and CRF for organising the conference on women’s empowerment. She said such platforms help strengthen public awareness and policy focus. The conference focused on increasing women’s participation in social, economic and public life. The Chief Minister said a collective effort is needed to build a more inclusive and empowered Delhi.
On the occasion earlier in the day, Annapurna Devi said that women-led development remains at the centre of the Government’s policy framework to ensure greater access to opportunities, financial independence and improved quality of life for women across the country.
Addressing the inaugural session of the ‘Sashakt Nari-Viksit Bharat’, Annapurna Devi highlighted several Government initiatives, like Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, Startup India and PM SVANidhi, which have strengthened women financially and enhanced their confidence and self-reliance. She also said that the proposed SHE-Mart initiative will provide a dedicated marketing platform for women and promote their products under the ‘Local for Global’ vision.
The Pioneer Group Chairman Prashant Tewari, Director Kushan Mitra and CRF President Shishir Priyadarshi were also present on the occasion.
