Woman and teenage daughter die after jumping into well in Telangana; 10-year-old son survives

A 35-year-old woman and her 15-year-old daughter died after they entered an agricultural well in Telangana's Rangareddy district following a reported domestic dispute, while the woman's 10-year-old son survived by climbing to safety, police said. The incident took place on the night of July 16 in Shankarpally, where the family had been living for agricultural work.
According to police, the woman allegedly left home with her two children after an argument with her husband and went to a nearby farm well. During the incident, the young boy managed to save himself by holding onto a tree branch inside the well before climbing out and seeking help.
However, his mother and teenage sister could not be rescued in time. Rescue teams later recovered their bodies and shifted them for post-mortem examination.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances leading to the deaths. Officials are recording statements from family members and examining all aspects of the incident. The case has drawn attention to the emotional impact of domestic disputes and the importance of timely support for families facing distress.
