West Bengal heralds Har Ghar Tiranga
The Bengal Government on Sunday organized a state-wide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign to celebrate the 70th year of Independence, targeting distribution of 70 lakh national flags.
The programme was earlier started by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari from his Bhawanipore constituency on Friday. During the occasion, he had said that his government had issued a circular outlining the measures to be taken based on guidelines received from the Central Government.
The Government was also likely to organize a massive Tiranga Rally on Monday from the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose statue till Gate number 1 of Birla Planetarium.
“This initiative is to inspire patriotic fervor among the people, particularly the younger generations… We expect more than 50,000 patriotic citizens will take part in the rally,” Adhikari said, leading a procession at Bhawanipore and raising slogans of “Bharat Mata ki Jai (Long live India) and Vande Mataram (Hail the Motherland).”
He said, “I request all the patriotic people to take part in the procession, appealing to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message of “Har Ghar Tiranga, Dil Se Tiranga, Pyar Se Tiranga” a grand success. The programme is likely to be observed from Sunday till August 17.
A national campaign was launched earlier by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2022. The programme also coincides with the commemoration of 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’.
