West Bengal CM promises strict action after Murshidabad train crossing crash kills three

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has assured the public that the "strictest possible action" will be taken against those found responsible for the Murshidabad train accident that claimed three lives, including two school students.
The tragedy occurred when a passenger train collided with a pool car at an open level crossing near Karna Subarna railway station in Murshidabad district.
Expressing grief over the incident, the Chief Minister said negligence in duty would not be tolerated and directed the district administration to extend all possible assistance to the injured and the families of those who lost their lives. State minister Gouri Sankar Ghosh also visited the hospital to monitor the treatment of the injured and review the ongoing relief efforts.
Following the accident, authorities initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the collision. Officials are examining whether lapses in safety protocols or human error contributed to the tragedy. The incident has once again highlighted concerns over safety at unmanned and open level crossings, with calls for stronger preventive measures to avoid similar accidents in the future.
