Vindhya: Realising the goal of ‘Developed India 2047’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while expressing confidence in the resolve of a “Developed India 2047,” said that the development journey in Vindhya is progressing in that direction. This journey is not merely about schemes; rather, it is the result of collective efforts and a shared vision, which is working towards improving the lives of every individual. Our goal is to make Vindhya an ideal region. This journey is becoming meaningful. This is not just development, but a symbol of trust, commitment, and continuous effort.
When the Vindhya region was given the opportunity to serve, the Central Government paid special attention to its development. However, to realise this dream, continuous efforts are necessary. After 2003, when Madhya Pradesh got capable leadership, development works gained momentum. Priority was given to electricity, roads, health, and education, and efforts were made to strengthen these sectors. To provide facilities in rural areas, continuous efforts were made from 2009 to ensure a 24-hour electricity supply. Not only did electricity reach every village, but rural life also witnessed cultural and social transformation.
The real identity of Vindhya was established when the Rewa solar plant, one of Asia’s largest solar plants, was set up. This project is not just a source of energy production but also a living example of the Prime Minister’s “Urja Suraksha” (Energy Security) vision. This project has given new life to the Rewa and Vindhya regions from both economic and environmental perspectives.
Tourism, development, and local identity are being strengthened through the Mukundpur White Tiger Safari project. Since 2014, connectivity in the Vindhya region has increased, and continuous efforts are being made for road and rail connectivity. Vindhya’s cultural identity is also being re-established. Today, thousands of tourists are visiting the region, which has also created employment opportunities for the local population. This project is becoming a medium to give the Vindhya region a new identity.
The construction of roads, bridges, and rail networks is connecting the Vindhya region with the country’s major economic and social networks. Rewa has also seen expansion in air services, which is not only providing convenience to passengers but also opening new dimensions in employment, business, and tourism.
In the field of health, Vindhya has progressed at a rapid pace. The establishment of a super-speciality hospital in Rewa and the strengthening of medical colleges are providing modern medical facilities. Our goal is to make healthcare services available at the doorstep of every citizen so that timely treatment can be ensured. For this, people no longer have to go to distant cities and depend on others. This is not just service expansion, but also an increase in quality of life.
Agriculture and rural development are important pillars of Vindhya’s social and economic structure. The Central Government and the State Government together started a natural farming campaign in the Vindhya region. Farmers were trained in techniques related to natural farming. This will prove to be an important step towards making Vindhya farmers self-reliant. Today, Vindhya can become a major centre of organic food and natural farming. Under the leadership of Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, natural farming is being encouraged.
In Rewa city and its surrounding areas, continuous efforts for cleanliness can be seen. The construction of ponds, lakes, and water bodies is being undertaken, which is improving the environmental balance of the city as well as enhancing the quality of life of the people. The expansion of modern facilities in urban areas is also improving citizens’ standard of living.
Education and culture together are determining a new direction. Expansion of the academic environment and the strengthening of universities are examples of development along with our cultural heritage and modern education. The university is not only a medium of education but also an effort to preserve our history, culture, and future.
Today, the Vindhya region is moving forward in a balanced direction in both urban and rural areas. New opportunities are being created in this region for farmers, youth, and women — employment, empowerment, and socio-economic progress. This is not just a process of development; it is a comprehensive effort to improve the quality of life. Our aim is to make every family and every citizen healthy, capable, and self-reliant. We are moving forward with this vision so that the Vindhya region can play an important role in achieving the goal of Developed India 2047.
