Vijay Diwas Bike Rally 2025 honors 1971 war heroes
The Vijay Diwas Bike Rally 2025, commemorating the 54th anniversary of India’s decisive victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak War, culminated at Sukna on December 23, 2025. The rally paid tribute to the courage, valour and supreme sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces, while reinforcing the spirit of national pride and civil-military harmony.
The rally was flagged in at the headquarters of Trishakti Corps by Lieutenant General Man Raj Singh Mann, General Officer Commanding, Trishakti Corps. Speaking on the occasion, the GOC said, “Vijay Diwas reminds us of the unity, resolve and sacrifice that led to one of India’s greatest military victories. Initiatives such as this bike rally ensure that the legacy of 1971 remains alive in the hearts of our citizens, especially the youth.”
A contingent of forty motivated civilian motorcyclists from Sikkim undertook this commemorative jou-rney, symbolising the enduring bond between the Armed Forces and the citizens they serve. Flagged off from Gangtok on December 16, 2025, the rally traversed a demanding and symbolic route across the Eastern Theatre, passing through Sikkim, North Bengal, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya.
The route covered diverse terrain ranging from mountain valleys and plains to river crossings and hill regions, connecting areas that played a critical role during the 1971 operations. During the journey, the riders paid homage at key military formations instrumental in the historic victory, including Gajraj Corps, Rhino Area and Trishakti Corps. Solemn wreath-laying ceremonies were conducted at the Gajraj War Memorial in Tezpur (December 18), the Rhino Prerna Sthal in Shillong (December 19), and the Trishakti War Memorial in Sukna (December 23), reaffirming the nation’s gratitude to its fallen heroes.
An important component of the rally was the interaction with students at PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalayas in Gangtok, Hasimara, Narangi and Solmara at Tezpur. These engagements brought alive the significance of Vijay Diwas and inspired young minds with the values of service, sacrifice and patriotism. The Vijay Diwas Bike Rally 2025 stands as a rolling tribute to India’s greatest ever military victory, ensuring that the legacy of courage, unity and national resolve from 1971 continues to inspire present and future generations.
