US removes four Indian Firms from Russia related sanctions list

The United States has removed four Indian companies from its Russia-related sanctions list, reversing restrictions that had been imposed in 2024 over allegations of supplying technology and equipment linked to Russia's military-industrial sector. The decision was announced by the US Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) as part of its latest update to the Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list.
The four companies removed from the sanctions list are RRG Engineering Technologies Private Limited and Lokesh Machines Limited from Hyderabad, Galaxy Bearings Limited from Ahmedabad, and Shaurya Aeronautics Private Limited from New Delhi.
They had previously been sanctioned under Executive Order 14024, which targets entities accused of supporting Russia following its invasion of Ukraine.
The Indian government had earlier engaged with Washington on the issue, maintaining that India follows strict export-control regulations and is committed to international compliance standards. While the US Treasury has not specified the reasons for the delisting, the move is being seen as a positive development in India-US trade and strategic relations.
The sanctions update also included fresh measures against individuals and entities linked to drug trafficking networks in Mexico.
