UP Government appoints 60 Ministers as District In-Charges to Strengthen Governance

The Uttar Pradesh government has assigned 60 ministers as district in-charges across the state in a move aimed at improving governance, monitoring development projects, and ensuring effective implementation of welfare schemes at the grassroots level.

According to an official notification, each minister has been given responsibility for one or more districts and will oversee the progress of government initiatives, review administrative functioning, and coordinate with local authorities.

The district in-charge ministers will regularly visit their assigned districts, assess the implementation of flagship programmes, address public grievances, and ensure that development works are completed on time.

The initiative is intended to enhance accountability and strengthen coordination between the state government and district administrations. Ministers will also monitor law and order, infrastructure projects, social welfare schemes, and other key governance priorities.

The decision reflects the Uttar Pradesh government's focus on improving administrative efficiency and accelerating development across all regions of the state.

Officials said the district in-charge ministers will serve as a direct link between the state leadership and local administrations, helping identify challenges and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
