Two teenage boys go missing after being swept away at Jharkhand dam

Two teenage boys went missing on Sunday after they were swept away by strong currents at the Kharkhai check dam in Jharkhand's Seraikela-Kharswan district, police said.

The two had gone to the dam on a weekend outing when they entered the water and were carried away by the current, police said.

Local divers were brought in and a search operation was launched soon after the incident. However, the boys could not be traced, a police officer said.

The district administration has sought assistance from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). The search operation will resume on Monday, the officer said.  (with inputs from PTI)
