Trump unveils New Air Force One, a Converted Qatari Boeing 747

US President Donald Trump has unveiled a newly converted Air Force One, a former Qatari-owned Boeing 747 that will temporarily serve as the presidential aircraft until the next generation of Air Force One jets is delivered. The aircraft was showcased at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.
The jet features a redesigned exterior with a navy-blue underbelly, a red stripe, a prominent presidential seal and a large American flag on the tail, replacing the traditional light-blue colour scheme used for decades. Trump described the aircraft as a “flying White House” and praised its luxury and modern features.
According to the US administration, the aircraft will act as a bridge solution while Boeing completes delivery of two delayed VC-25B presidential aircraft, now expected in 2028. Trump said the ageing presidential fleet required an interim replacement and thanked Qatar for providing the aircraft.

The converted Boeing 747 has undergone extensive modifications, including upgrades to communications, security and defensive systems required for presidential travel. Reports indicate the aircraft will be used for upcoming international engagements and is expected to participate in Independence Day celebrations in July.
The aircraft's introduction has also sparked political debate in the United States, with critics raising concerns about accepting a high-value aircraft from a foreign government. However, officials have maintained that the transfer and modifications comply with federal requirements and security standards.
