Tripura launches first-ever online school monitoring system to strengthen foundational education

The Government of Tripura has launched its first-ever online school monitoring system aimed at strengthening foundational education and improving learning outcomes across government schools in the state.
The initiative is designed to digitally track student progress, classroom activities, and teacher performance in real time, with a special focus on foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN). Officials said the system will help improve accountability and ensure better academic standards in schools across all districts.
According to the education department, the platform will allow inspectors, Block Resource Persons (BRPs), and Cluster Resource Persons (CRPs) to conduct regular school visits and upload inspection reports directly to the online portal. These reports will be monitored at both district and state levels for timely corrective action.
Teachers will also be able to conduct student assessments through the system, enabling continuous evaluation of learning outcomes. Schools will be reviewed periodically, and performance-based recognition may be given to teachers whose students show significant improvement.
The system has been developed under the broader education reform framework being implemented in Tripura, which focuses on improving school governance, transparency, and foundational learning under initiatives aligned with national education goals.
Officials added that the platform will also help identify weak-performing institutions and support targeted interventions to improve teaching quality and student performance.
The state government said the initiative is part of its long-term plan to modernize education infrastructure and ensure that children, especially in primary classes, receive strong foundational learning support.
