Tata Power bags LEED certification for 6 more buildings

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL), which powers over 7 million people in north Delhi, has clinched the top Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum certification for six more office buildings under the LEED v4.1 EBOM rating system.
The honoured facilities include the Learning and Development Centre (CENPEID), Rani Bagh Protection Office, and four key district offices. These sites met stringent benchmarks set by the US Green Building Council (USGBC) and verified by Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI) for energy efficiency, water conservation, sustainable practices, indoor air quality, and design innovation.
LEED Platinum, the highest accolade from USGBC/GBCI, underscores Tata Power-DDL’s push for eco-friendly operations. This takes the utility’s tally to 10 LEED Platinum-certified existing buildings. It builds on their 2022 feat, when the corporate office and three others earned the same honour. The certifications highlight Tata Power-DDL’s commitment to green infrastructure amid rising demands for sustainable energy in the Capital.
The certification was granted after a rigorous evaluation of Tata Power-DDL’s green building practices, which include energy-efficient LED lighting and HVAC systems, optimised use of natural resources and water conservation measures, and enhanced indoor environmental quality and occupant comfort. The operations and maintenance of these offices of the discom were evaluated on key sustainability metrics such as energy savings, water conservation, and carbon footprint, and were found to be in compliance with global standards.
