Supreme Court orders separate space near Bhojshala for Friday Namaz

The Supreme Court has directed authorities to arrange a separate space near the disputed Bhojshala-Kamal Maula complex in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, for Muslims to offer Friday namaz between 1 pm and 3 pm. The court clarified that the arrangement is temporary and will remain in place until the ongoing legal dispute over the site is finally decided.
During the hearing, the Bench stressed the need to maintain peace and communal harmony while ensuring that the religious rights of all parties are respected. The court observed that both Hindu and Muslim communities should be able to perform their respective religious practices without disruption.
It also indicated its willingness to conduct day-to-day hearings to expedite the resolution of the long-pending dispute over the Bhojshala-Kamal Maula complex.
The Bhojshala site has been at the centre of a long-standing legal and religious dispute, with both Hindu and Muslim groups claiming rights over the premises. The latest direction aims to ensure orderly religious observances while the matter remains under judicial consideration, with the final outcome to be determined after completion of the legal proceedings.
