SSF organises menstrual hygiene workshop for teachers

Seekho Sikhao Foundation (SSF), a non-profit grassroot education initiative organised a Menstrual Hygiene Orientation Workshop, with support from the Airports Authority of India (AAI), for teachers and representatives from 20 Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) and four Government Girls’ Inter Colleges in Sitapur district, Uttar Pradesh.

The workshop was held at the District Inspector of Schools Auditorium, Sitapur, to strengthen awareness around menstrual hygiene and promote a safe, healthy and supportive environment for girls in schools. 

As part of the initiative, Menstrual Hygiene Garima Kits manufactured by FabPad will be provided to girls. Each kit comprises five reusable cloth pads, two undergarments, one washing soap and an instruction booklet.
The workshop was chaired by Dr Rajendra Singh, District Inspector of Schools, while Dr Gorakhnath Patel, District Basic Education Officer, addressed the participants as the keynote speaker. Teachers and representatives were oriented on menstrual hygiene practices, sensitive and respectful communication with girls, and conducting awareness activities at the school level.
