SSB honours athletes for outstanding performance in National Games

The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), which plays a crucial role in securing the India-Nepal and India-Bhutan borders, is also continuously reaching new heights in the field of sports. The force’s athletes have brought glory to the SSB by delivering outstanding performances in various prestigious national-level sports competitions held during the year 2025. Grand felicitation ceremony organised at the Force Headquarters, Sashastra Seema Bal, New Delhi Director General Sanjay Singhal honored the athletes and their coaches who excelled in national competitions during this period.
The Director General honored the athletes for their exceptional achievements by presenting them with the Director General’s Disc, certificates of appreciation, and cash awards. Additionally, the coaches who played a vital role in providing excellent training and guidance to the athletes were also honored with the Director General’s Disc. During the past quarter, 111 SSB athletes participated in 07 major national competitions and achieved remarkable performances, winning a total of 24 medals, including 09 gold, 08 silver, and 07 bronze medals.
In the 74th All India Police Hockey Championship, Rajkot (December 4 to 15, 2025), the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) women’s hockey team defeated the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) 2-1 in the final match to claim the ‘Champion’ title, (01 gold medal).
In the 35th Senior National Sepaktakraw Championship, Goa (October 23 to 27, 2025), the athletes won the highest number of medals with 06 gold and 03 silver, waving the flag of the force high. In the Senior National Judo Championship, Manipur (December 11 to 14, 2025), 01 gold, 01 silver, and 02 bronze medals were won. Senior National Wrestling Championship, Ahmedabad (December 12 to 14, 2025).
On this occasion, Director General Sanjay Singhal in his address Stated that the SSB athletes are strong symbols of the force’s discipline, dedication, and excellence. The program was attended by Inspector General MR Nayak, Ganesh Kumar, Parul Kush Jain, Sanjeev Sharma, Somit Joshi along with many other senior officers and personnel.
