NCRTC opens commercial space bids at Sarai Kale Khan station

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has invited bids for commercial spaces at the Sarai Kale Khan Namo Bharat Station on the Delhi to Meerut corridor as part of efforts to improve commuter facilities and develop the station into a major urban transit hub.
NCRTC said around 818 square metres of commercial space on the ground floor of the station will be offered on a licence basis through an e-tendering process. The spaces are spread across eight identified locations and include both bare and built-up units ranging from 17 square metres to 247 square metres.
Officials said the commercial spaces can be used for food outlets, cafés, convenience stores, service centres, pod services and other retail activities aimed at commuters and nearby residents. The licence period for the spaces will range from nine to 15 years.
According to NCRTC, the initiative is intended to provide passengers with better convenience and integrated services within the station premises.
Authorities said the presence of retail and service outlets inside the station would help commuters save time and make travel more comfortable and secure.
The corporation said the station’s strategic location and transport connectivity make it suitable for commercial activity. Sarai Kale Khan station is one of the largest stations on the Delhi to Meerut Namo Bharat corridor and is being developed as a major multi-modal transport centre in the national Capital.
The station is connected to Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station, Veer Haqiqat Rai Interstate Bus Terminal, the Delhi Metro Pink Line and Ring Road. NCRTC recently operationalised a 280-metre covered foot overbridge equipped with travelators to provide direct access between the Namo Bharat station and Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station.
Officials said the new foot overbridge has significantly improved passenger movement and interchange facilities between different transport systems in the area. The station is expected to witness heavy commuter footfall because of its central location and connectivity.
