Delhi Police has busted an alleged IPL ticket black marketing racket in the national capital and arrested three people involved in the illegal sale of match tickets at inflated prices.

During the operation, police seized 87 IPL tickets and passes from the accused, officials said.

According to investigators, the accused were allegedly selling tickets for upcoming Indian Premier League matches in the black market by charging rates significantly higher than the original prices.

Police launched the crackdown following specific intelligence inputs about illegal ticket sales near match venues and surrounding areas.

The arrested individuals were reportedly part of a network involved in procuring IPL tickets in bulk and reselling them illegally to cricket fans seeking last-minute entry passes.

Officials said the seized tickets and hospitality passes were intended for high-demand IPL matches.

Delhi Police has registered a case and initiated further investigation to identify other members linked to the racket and trace the source of the illegally circulated tickets.

Authorities have also appealed to cricket fans to purchase tickets only through authorised platforms and avoid dealing with black market sellers.

The Indian Premier League continues to witness massive demand for tickets, especially for high-profile fixtures, often leading to incidents of black marketing near stadiums.
