Central Sanskrit University hosts seminar, felicitation
Central Sanskrit University (CSU), New Delhi, through its Research and Development Cell, organised a National Seminar, book release and the inauguration of a special lecture series on August 8 and 9, focusing on the philosophical richness of the Vedanta tradition and its contemporary relevance.
The National Seminar was held on August 8 at the Veda-Vedanta Study and Research Institute (VVSRI), Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, where the volume Vedantadarsanasangraha was formally released.
The programme was graced by His Holiness Sri Sri Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Adhokshaja Matha, Udupi, and Mahamahopadhyaya Sadhu Bhadreshdas Swamiji of the BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institute. Professor Srinivasa Varakhedi, Vice-Chancellor, Central Sanskrit University, presided over the programme.
On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor Professor Varakhedi stated that Akshar-Purushottam Darshan is the seventh Vedic philosophical school (darshan) in India's Vedic philosophical tradition, and it has been given a place in the mainstream in the book Vedantadarsanasangraha published by the university.
Continuing the series, on 9th August, from 5 to 7 pm, a special lecture series was also launched at Swaminarayan Akshardham, New Delhi, in the presence of distinguished scholars from across India. His Holiness Sri Sri Vishvaprasannatirtha Swamiji Maharaj of the Pejawar Adhokshaja Matha, Udupi, inaugurated the lecture series by delivering the first lecture.
On this occasion, Central Sanskrit University specially felicitated His Holiness Sadhu Bhadreshdas Swamiji and conferred upon him the honorary title "Vedanta Vidya Visvaguru", in recognition of his distinguished contributions to Vedanta scholarship, Sanskrit literature and the Indian Knowledge Tradition. Swamiji dedicated this honor at the feet of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj.
The programme was also attended by eminent scholars and Vedanta experts from across the country, including Professor Sukanta Kumar Senapati, Vice-Chancellor, Somnath Sanskrit University, and various others Vice-Chancellors and Professors.
Professor Ganesh T Pandit served as the coordinator of the programme.
