4 Hyderabad residents killed, 6 injured as SUV crashes into parked lorry in Andhra Pradesh

Four people from Hyderabad were killed and six others injured after the SUV they were travelling in rammed into a parked lorry on the Macherla–Veldurthi highway in Andhra Pradesh's Palnadu district on Friday. The impact of the collision left the vehicle badly mangled, triggering a major rescue operation.

According to police, the accident occurred when the SUV crashed into a stationary lorry parked along the highway. Four occupants died on the spot, while six others sustained injuries of varying severity and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Local residents and emergency responders reached the scene soon after the crash and helped rescue the injured trapped inside the vehicle. Police shifted the bodies for post-mortem examination and cleared the road to restore traffic movement.

Authorities have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. Preliminary findings suggest that poor visibility or driver error may have contributed to the collision, though officials said the probe is ongoing.
