3 Killed, 10 injured after Muharram Tazia procession touches power line in MP's Ratlam

3 people were killed and 10 others injured after a Muharram Tazia procession came into contact with a high-tension power line in Madhya Pradesh's Ratlam district late on Thursday night, police said.
The incident occurred around 11:15 pm in Hatnara village under the Pipaluda police station limits. According to eyewitnesses, the Tazia being carried through Mewati Mohalla accidentally touched an overhead high-voltage power line, causing a powerful electric shock.
The people carrying the Tazia were electrocuted and collapsed on the spot, while several others standing nearby also sustained injuries after coming into contact with them. Panic spread through the procession as locals rushed to help the victims before emergency services arrived.
Ratlam Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar confirmed that three people lost their lives in the incident and said an investigation has been launched to determine the exact circumstances behind the tragedy.
Officials at Ratlam Medical College said the three victims brought to the hospital had already succumbed to their injuries, while the remaining injured are undergoing treatment at various hospitals.
