PM Modi says Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan has become a people's movement

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan has evolved into a nationwide people's movement powered by public participation, and urged citizens to join the mission of building a drug-free and developed India.

Sharing an article by Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment B.L. Verma on social media, the Prime Minister said the campaign reflects the collective resolve of the nation to combat drug abuse. He called upon every citizen to contribute towards creating a Nasha Mukt Bharat as part of the vision of Viksit Bharat.

In his article, B.L. Verma described drug abuse as a major challenge affecting the future of India's youth and the country's overall progress. He said the government is committed to addressing the issue through awareness, prevention and public participation.

The minister urged citizens, particularly young people, to actively support the anti-drug campaign and transform it into a nationwide movement. He said a drug-free society would strengthen the foundation for achieving the goal of a developed India.

The remarks came as the Centre continues to intensify its anti-drug initiatives through awareness campaigns, law enforcement and community participation across the country.
