India, Bhutan discuss stronger cooperation in education, skills and digital learning

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan met Bhutan's Minister of Education and Skills Development, Yeezang De Thapa, to explore ways to deepen bilateral cooperation in education, skill development and knowledge partnerships.
The two leaders discussed expanding collaboration in key areas, including teacher training, vocational skilling, digital education, artificial intelligence (AI), sustainable tourism and holistic well-being. The meeting reaffirmed both countries' commitment to strengthening educational ties and fostering innovation.
The discussions also highlighted the deep cultural and spiritual connection between India and Bhutan through Guru Padmasambhava, revered in Bhutan as Guru Rinpoche. The leaders noted that Guru Padmasambhava hailed from present-day Sambalpur in Odisha, underscoring the shared historical and spiritual heritage between the two nations.
The meeting reflects the growing India-Bhutan partnership, with both sides expressing interest in enhancing cooperation to create greater educational and skill development opportunities for students and professionals.
