Several injured as KSRTC bus falls into gorge in Kerala

Several passengers were injured, three of them seriously, after a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus veered off the road and fell into a gorge at Pothundy near Nenmara in Palakkad district on Monday, August 3rd.

The accident occurred around 9.30 am when the bus was travelling from Nelliyampathy to Nenmara, Police said.

The bus fell into the gorge and got lodged between trees, preventing it from plunging further.

Several passengers sustained injuries, while the condition of three was reported to be serious.

A woman rescued from the spot was unconscious and in a very serious condition, police said.

Fire and Rescue Services personnel and police rushed to the spot and launched rescue operations.

The injured passengers were shifted to Nelliyampathy hospital for treatment.
