Sandhu among Punjab’s top parliamentarians

Satnam Singh Sandhu, a Rajya Sabha member from Punjab, has been recognised as one of the State’s top parliamentarians. Since taking office in January 2024, he has kept an overall attendance of 91 per cent in the Rajya Sabha, well above the national average.
During the Budget Session, Sandhu recorded 97 per cent attendance, exceeding the national average and that of many peers. His attendance figures reflect a consistent record of participation.
Since joining the Rajya Sabha in January 2024, Sandhu has maintained 100 per cent attendance in the 2024 budget session and the 2025 winter session. Sandhu is among Punjab’s most active parliamentarians, regularly raising issues concerning his home state in the Upper House.
Parliamentary records show that Sandhu has taken part in 104 debates, asked 196 questions, and introduced six Private Members’ Bills since joining the House two years ago. These numbers put him ahead of the national average and most other parliamentarians from Punjab.
These figures place him among the most active parliamentarians from Punjab, comparable to senior legislators across parties. Parliamentary engagement is typically assessed by attendance and participation.
