New IRCTC website to launch by July 15, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announces

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced that a new and upgraded IRCTC website will be launched by July 15, 2026, following complaints from students regarding difficulties faced while booking railway tickets online.
The announcement came after a group of students raised concerns about the current IRCTC portal during an interaction with the minister. One student highlighted problems with the website’s CAPTCHA system and other booking-related issues, prompting an immediate response from Vaishnaw.
Taking note of the complaints, the Railway Minister contacted officials on the spot and directed them to develop a new website within 30 days. He subsequently announced that the revamped IRCTC platform would be ready for launch by July 15.
The move is aimed at improving the ticket booking experience for millions of railway passengers across the country. The upgraded portal is expected to offer a more user-friendly interface, enhanced performance, and a smoother booking process.
During his visit to Jaipur, Vaishnaw also highlighted the Centre’s efforts to modernise railway infrastructure in Rajasthan. He said the state has witnessed unprecedented investment in the railway sector under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to the minister, Rajasthan’s railway budget, which stood at around ₹600 crore before 2014, has increased significantly and now stands at a record ₹10,228 crore. He said the increased allocation has accelerated the expansion and modernisation of railway facilities across the state.
Vaishnaw noted that development work is underway at more than 200 railway stations in Rajasthan, including platform height enhancements, platform extensions, improved passenger shelters and other modern amenities.
He also said that around 85 railway stations are being redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Among them, Jaipur Railway Station is undergoing rapid transformation with upgraded passenger facilities and modern infrastructure.
The Railway Minister emphasised that the government remains committed to improving railway services, digital infrastructure and passenger convenience across the country.
