POWERGRID hits 3 trillion asset milestone in Q3FY26

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), the ‘Maharatna’ CPSE under the Ministry of Power, has achieved a historic milestone as its Consolidated Gross Fixed Assets surpassed the r 3 trillion mark. Announcing its unaudited financial results for the quarter ended December 31, 2025, the company reported a consolidated Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs 4,185 crore, marking an 8 per cent year-on-year growth.
The company’s total consolidated income for Q3FY26 stood at Rs 12,599 crore, up by 7 per cent compared to the previous year. For the nine-month period (9MFY26), the standalone PAT reached Rs 11,368 crore, while the consolidated total income was recorded at Rs 35,714 crore.
Reflecting its robust financial health, the Board of Directors declared a second interim dividend of Rs 3.25 per equity share. This brings the total interim dividend for the financial year 2025-26 to Rs 7.75 per share, including the first interim dividend of Rs 4.50 declared earlier. During 9MFY26, POWERGRID incurred a capital expenditure of Rs 26,761 crore and capitalised assets worth Rs 12,915 crore. As of 31 December 2025, the Gross Fixed Assets stood at Rs 3,04,336 crore.
The company currently holds a strong order book with “Works in Hand” valued at approximately Rs 1,45,500 crore as of January 2026.
Expanding its portfolio, the corporation secured its first Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project at Kalikiri, Andhra Pradesh. Its massive transmission network now spans 1,83,174 km of lines and 287 substations, maintaining an impressive system availability of 99.84 per cent.
In a significant stride towards environmental stewardship, POWERGRID now draws 50 per cent of its power consumption from renewable sources.
It also commissioned Asia’s first 315 MVA synthetic ester oil-filled transformer at the HVDC Bhiwadi Substation, further modernising India’s power infrastructure.
