PM Modi visits L&T Hazira facility, reviews Zorawar Tank and Key infrastructure projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Larsen & Toubro's Hazira manufacturing facility in Gujarat's Surat district, where he reviewed key industrial operations, defence manufacturing capabilities and ongoing infrastructure projects.
During his visit to the AM Naik Heavy Engineering Complex, L&T's advanced manufacturing hub, the Prime Minister was briefed by company officials on various engineering and defence production initiatives. He reviewed the indigenous 'Zorawar' light tank and other defence systems being manufactured at the facility.
The Zorawar tank has been jointly developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and L&T Defence. The 25-tonne air-transportable combat vehicle is designed for rapid deployment, particularly in high-altitude regions along India's northern frontier.
The visit formed part of Prime Minister Modi's day-long tour of Gujarat and Daman, during which he is set to inaugurate, dedicate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth approximately Rs 22,000 crore.
In Surat, projects worth over Rs 18,800 crore across the road, power and industrial sectors are being launched, while development initiatives worth around Rs 2,970 crore are scheduled in Daman.

Among the key projects to be inaugurated are a 200-bed Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Hospital in Surat and the newly constructed terminal building at NAMO Airport in Daman. The projects are aimed at strengthening regional infrastructure, connectivity, healthcare and industrial growth in western India.
