PM Modi begins 3-Day Seychelles visit as Guest of Honour for Golden Jubilee National Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embarked on a three-day state visit to Seychelles from June 27 to 29, where he will attend the island nation's Golden Jubilee National Day celebrations as the Guest of Honour. The visit marks his first trip to Seychelles in over a decade and aims to further strengthen bilateral ties.
During the visit, Prime Minister Modi will hold bilateral talks with Seychelles President Patrick Herminie to review cooperation across key sectors, including maritime security, development, trade and regional issues. He is also scheduled to address the National Assembly and interact with members of the Indian diaspora.

A contingent of the Indian Armed Forces, along with two Indian Navy ships, will participate in the National Day celebrations, underscoring the close defence and maritime partnership between the two countries. Seychelles is a key partner in India's Vision MAHASAGAR initiative and holds strategic importance in the Indian Ocean region.
The Ministry of External Affairs said the visit will reaffirm the longstanding friendship between India and Seychelles and reinforce cooperation across multiple sectors. The two countries share strong historical, cultural and people-to-people ties, with India continuing to play a significant role in Seychelles' development and regional security.
