Tremors felt across Delhi-NCR
Tremors were felt in Delhi and adjoining areas late Tuesday after a 4.9-magnitude earthquake hit Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS) — the nodal Government agency monitoring earthquake activity — the epicentre was located at a depth of 13 km in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli. The quake, which logged a magnitude of 4.9 on the Richter scale, hit at 10:23 pm, the NCS added. Earlier on Tuesday, an earthquake of magnitude 4.5 struck Assam’s Nagaon district, NCS said. The earthquake occurred at 4:23:47 am IST at a depth of 33 kilometres, the NCS said in a post on X.
