India wins 7th gold in Glasgow CWG
India won their seventh gold medal in Commonwealth Games boxing with Ankush Panghal beating Dimeji Shittu of England in the men's 80 kg final on Saturday. Ankush won in a 4-1 split decision against Shittu. The other Indian gold winners were Sachin Siwach, Jaismine Lamboria, Preeti Pawar, Sakshi Chaudhary, Arundhati Choudhary and Priya Ghanghas, while Olympic medallist Lovlina Borgohain and Jadumani Singh settled for a silver each. In the men's 60kg final, Sachin beat Tryagain Morning Ndevelo of Namibia in a dramatic bout. He made a remarkable comeback after he was behind his opponent in the first two rounds. In the third and final round, Sachin forced a standing count against Ndevelo, resulting in a 3-2 split verdict win in favour of the Indian.
