OmniCard launches Flexi Benefits Basket on UPI for employee benefits

OmniCard (Eroute Technologies Pvt. Ltd.), an RBI-licensed benefits and corporate spend management platform, on Monday announced the launch of its Flexi Benefits Basket on UPI, allowing employees to allocate their benefits across categories such as meals, fuel, telecom, books and periodicals, and gadgets.
The company said the benefits wallet can be used through UPI payments at more than 60 million merchants, including food outlets, fuel stations and bookstores.
Under the new offering, employees can decide how their benefits allowance is distributed across eligible categories, while merchant category-based controls are used to ensure spending remains within the prescribed limits.
The company said the offering follows the Income-tax Rules, 2026, under which the tax-free limit on employer-provided meals has been increased from Rs 50 to Rs 200 per meal, subject to prescribed conditions. OmniCard said the expanded benefits structure could enable tax-free benefits of more than Rs 2 lakh annually per employee, depending on the categories and structure adopted by employers.
The Flexi Benefits Basket is available to OmniCard's enterprise, mid-corporate and SME clients, with digital onboarding and same-day rollout, the company said.
Employers can manage benefit allocation, issuance and transactions through a centralised dashboard, while employees can access physical and virtual cards and make payments through UPI.
OmniCard said the offering is issued under its own RBI Prepaid Payment Instrument (PPI) licence and can also be integrated with HRMS and payroll platforms, benefits consultants, staffing companies and banks through APIs.
The company said it serves more than 1,000 businesses across employee benefits, expense management, fleet and fuel management, petty cash and other corporate payment solutions.
