NTA reassigns NEET UG re-exam candidate from Abu Dhabi to Nagpur Centre

A NEET-UG 2026 re-examination candidate who was initially allotted an examination centre in Abu Dhabi was able to appear for the test in India after the National Testing Agency (NTA) promptly addressed the issue and reassigned the candidate to a centre in Nagpur.
The case drew attention after concerns were raised over the impractical allocation of an overseas examination centre for a candidate based in India.
Following representations made to the authorities, the NTA reviewed the matter and facilitated a change in the examination centre, ensuring that the candidate could take the test without unnecessary travel and logistical difficulties.
The candidate subsequently reached the newly allotted centre in Nagpur and was able to appear for the examination.
The incident comes amid heightened scrutiny of the NEET-UG re-examination process, with authorities working to ensure a smooth and fair experience for candidates across the country.
The NTA has implemented multiple measures, including dedicated grievance redressal mechanisms and enhanced coordination with examination centres, to address issues faced by students ahead of the test.
Officials reiterated their commitment to safeguarding the interests of candidates and ensuring that no student is disadvantaged due to administrative or logistical challenges.
The prompt resolution of the centre allocation issue has been welcomed as an example of responsive intervention during one of India's largest entrance examinations.
