Noida CEO shunted amid allegations of negligence as CM orders probe into accident

Facing widespread outrage, the Uttar Pradesh government on Monday removed Noida authority chief executive officer (CEO) and Managing Director of the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC), Lokesh M, has been removed from the post and formed a three-member special investigative team to probe the death of a 27-year-old Noida based techie, who died after his car drowned into a pit in Greater Noida's Sector 150 area.
The Government order of Lokesh M's transfer came shortly after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday took cognisance of the techie's death and ordered an SIT probe by high-ranking officials into the matter. The SIT will submit a report in five days.
CM Yogi Adityanath took cognisance of the incident and ordered a high-level probe. “On the directions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to inquire into the circumstances leading to the accident in Sector 150, where the techie's car plunged into a water-filled pit at a construction site two days ago. The SIT will give a report in five days”, a senior official said. The SIT will be headed by the Additional Director General (ADG), Meerut Zone. The Meerut divisional commissioner and the chief engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD) have also been included as members of the panel, the officer added.
