Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing 12 years in office, calling him not only the “longest-serving” but also the “finest-serving” Prime Minister of India.
Addressing a press conference in Mumbai, Fadnavis said that Modi had brought a “360-degree transformation” in the country and significantly enhanced India’s global stature. He noted that the importance of Modi’s tenure lies not just in its duration but in the scale of changes achieved during this period.
The Maharashtra CM claimed that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is currently in power in 22 states, covering nearly 80% of India’s population. He also said that Modi remains one of the world’s most popular leaders, citing high global approval ratings.
Highlighting governance achievements, Fadnavis said that 25 crore people have been lifted out of poverty and 80 crore citizens benefit from food security programmes. He also pointed to flagship schemes such as PM-Kisan, Ayushman Bharat, Jan Dhan Yojana, PM Awas Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana and Lakhpati Didi.
He further stated that over RS 51 lakh crore has been directly transferred to citizens through various welfare schemes, while annual infrastructure spending has risen sharply from Rs 2 lakh crore to Rs 12.2 lakh crore.
Fadnavis also highlighted India’s rapid economic growth, stating that the country has become the world’s fourth-largest economy and is moving towards a 5 trillion dollars economy despite global economic challenges.
He added that India has made strong progress in manufacturing, including electronics, semiconductors, mobile production and defence exports, while also promoting cultural heritage projects such as the Ram Mandir, Kashi Vishwanath Corridor and Mahakal Corridor.
Fadnavis concluded that Modi’s leadership is defined by transformative governance and long-term national development.
