Modi 12.0: One Vision, Nation First
As Prime Minister Narendra Modi completes 12 years in office, the Central Government on Wednesday said India has a zero- tolerance policy against terrorism and Operation Sindoor has only made it “clearer”.
In a document — titled “Nation First, the Core Mantra” — issued to mark the current Government’s 12 years, the Centre emphasised its vision of “Rashtra Pratham (nation first)” and asserted that it is no longer just a sentiment but the lifeblood of India.
The document begins with a statement attributed to Modi: “Our policy is of zero tolerance against terrorism. Operation Sindoor has made it even clearer. Anyone who tries to spill the blood of Indians will be answered in the same language. Those who raise their eyes towards India will not be spared at any cost.”
The Centre said this is the declaration of Prime Minister Modi, who has become the “confluence of policy, intention and decisive capability”.
“In the last 12 years, the bold and decisive approach of the Central Government has proved that when the country stands united and is filled with the spirit of ‘Rashtra Pratham’, iron-clad decisions are taken and results are delivered,” it said.
The document also emphasised the Government’s push for “Atmanirbharta” in the defence sector.
“India, once heavily dependent on foreign nations for defence equipment, is now exporting defence products to countries across the world,” it said.
Government marks 12 years with the Nation First message
Over 36,000 defence products were identified for large-scale manufacture in India, and manufacturing of more than 12,000 products has already begun, it said.
As part of Operation Sindoor, it added, nine terror hideouts were destroyed.
Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7, 2025, to avenge the deadly Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 last year. Under the military response, Indian forces conducted precision strikes on multiple terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir.
The military conflict between the two nuclear-armed neighbours, lasting nearly 88 hours, came to a halt after they reached an understanding on the evening of May 10.
Trump wishes PM
Washington: US President Donald Trump on Wednesday greeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming India’s longest-serving elected prime minister.
Modi reached the milestone of becoming India’s longest-serving prime minister on Wednesday, with an unbroken tenure of 4,399 days in office, surpassing the record of the first prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru.
“Congratulations to my friend, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on becoming India’s longest-serving Prime Minister - And a Great One he is,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
