MK Stalin slams TVK government after Anitha Radhakrishnan's arrest

DMK president M.K. Stalin has strongly criticised the ruling TVK government following the arrest of former Tamil Nadu minister and DMK MLA Anitha R. Radhakrishnan. Calling the action politically motivated, Stalin accused the government of misusing the police to target opposition leaders and warned that "arrogance leads to destruction."
His remarks came shortly after Radhakrishnan was arrested in connection with alleged defamatory comments made against Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay.
In a post on social media, Stalin questioned why the police acted swiftly against a sitting MLA who was carrying out constituency work while, according to him, showing less urgency in handling other serious criminal cases. He alleged that the TVK government was attempting to silence opposition voices instead of addressing public issues and maintaining law and order.
DMK leaders, including Kanimozhi, also condemned the arrest and described it as an attempt to intimidate political opponents.
The arrest follows the Madras High Court's rejection of Radhakrishnan's anticipatory bail plea in a case related to his alleged remarks against Chief Minister Vijay. The incident has further intensified the political confrontation between the DMK and the ruling TVK government ahead of key political developments in the state.
