Lt Gen Shukla discusses border development with Arunachal CM

Gajraj Corps General Officer Commanding (GOC), Lt Gen Neeraj Shukla, called on Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen KT Parnaik (Retd) and Chief Minister Pema Khandu in Tawang on Thursday to discuss civil-military coordination.
The high-level interaction focused on strengthening synergy between the Armed Forces and the civil administration to bolster infrastructure and connectivity in the State’s strategically important border regions. Officials said the discussions highlighted ongoing and future developmental initiatives aimed at fostering socio-economic growth in remote areas.
The Governor and Chief Minister expressed their appreciation for the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to improving the quality of life for local communities in far-flung sectors. They specifically acknowledged the Army’s significant role in catalysing the ‘Vibrant Village Programme’, which seeks to integrate border villages into the broader framework of national development.
Reaffirming their shared commitment to security and inclusive growth, the leaders emphasised that coordinated efforts are essential for the stability of the border regions. The meeting underscored the importance of the Army’s continued support in maintaining both the security and the well-being of the native population along the frontier.
