Kuwait Ambassador receives cloud of hope volunteer team visiting India
Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Republic of India, HE Meshal Mustafa AlShemali, received Kuwait’s “Cloud of Hope” volunteer team, which is visiting India as part of a humanitarian trip focused on healthcare, educational support and community empowerment.
The delegation comprises 30 volunteers from Kuwait, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, including physicians, engineers, academics, educators and specialists.
Ambassador AlShemali commended the humanitarian, charitable and voluntary work undertaken by young men and women from Kuwait and other Gulf countries.
He said the initiatives reflect the authentic values deeply rooted in Gulf societies and described them as a shining example of social awareness and responsibility.
He also highlighted the important role played by such initiatives in strengthening the presence and contribution of Gulf youth in international humanitarian action.
The Ambassador noted that charitable and humanitarian work is an intrinsic trait deeply ingrained in the people of Kuwait since ancient times.
He said their benevolent hands have reached the farthest corners of the world, responding to those in need and less fortunate, and extending assistance to all without discrimination.
He added that Kuwaiti society is guided by an enduring spirit of goodness and generosity, rooted in a firm belief in the values of mutual support, compassion and human solidarity.
During their visit to India, the delegation carried out a range of health, educational and relief initiatives, benefiting hundreds of children, families and members of the local community.
The activities included a voluntary medical day that benefited approximately 400 people through medical check-ups, consultations and health awareness programmes. The team also distributed hundreds of school bags, school supplies, food items and basic necessities to vulnerable communities.
In addition, the volunteers organised educational and sports programmes and interactive activities for children and students.
The activities were aimed at fostering self-confidence, teamwork and positive competition. Sports equipment was also provided to enable the activities to continue after the team’s visit concluded.
The trip builds on the “Cloud of Hope” team’s longstanding record of international humanitarian work and reflects the ability of Gulf youth to set an exemplary model of cross-border volunteerism.
Spanning three countries, involving 30 volunteers and reaching hundreds of beneficiaries, the initiative brought participants together around a common message: “Hope is a universal human language understood by all.”
