Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar's son sends legal notice to Mamata Banerjee over Barasat ticket claim

The internal conflict within the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has intensified after Baidyanath Ghosh Dastidar, son of rebel TMC MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, sent a legal notice to party chief Mamata Banerjee and several senior leaders.
The notice challenges claims that he had sought a TMC ticket from the Barasat Assembly constituency.
According to the legal notice, Baidyanath strongly denied reports and statements suggesting that he was interested in contesting elections or had requested a party nomination.
He described the allegations as false, defamatory, and damaging to his reputation. The notice reportedly demands that the concerned leaders withdraw their statements and issue clarifications within a specified period.
The development comes amid a major crisis within the TMC, where several MPs have openly rebelled against the party leadership following the party's recent political setbacks.
Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar has emerged as one of the prominent faces of the dissident group, deepening tensions within the organization.
Political observers view the legal notice as another sign of the widening rift inside the TMC.
With both political and legal battles unfolding simultaneously, the controversy is expected to further fuel discussions about the party's future and leadership challenges in West Bengal.
