Israel sent Iron Dome Batteries to UAE during Iran War, says US Ambassador

Israel deployed Iron Dome anti-missile batteries and personnel to the United Arab Emirates during the ongoing Iran conflict to help defend the Gulf nation, US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee said on Tuesday.
Huckabee made the remarks while speaking at an event in Tel Aviv, highlighting the growing strategic and defence ties between Israel and the UAE.
“I’d like to say a word of appreciation for United Arab Emirates, the first Abraham Accord member,” Huckabee said during the Tel Aviv Conference. “Just look at the benefits. Israel just sent them Iron Dome batteries and personnel to help operate them.”
The statement marks a rare public acknowledgment of direct Israeli military assistance to the UAE amid heightened tensions in the region linked to the Iran conflict.
The United Arab Emirates formally established diplomatic ties with Israel in 2020 under the Abraham Accords, becoming the first Gulf country in decades to normalize relations with the Jewish state.
While the UAE did not immediately comment on Huckabee’s remarks, the development underscores the deepening security cooperation between the two nations, both of which have long viewed Iran as a regional threat.
The Iron Dome is Israel’s highly advanced air defence system designed to intercept rockets, drones and short-range missiles. It has played a critical role in protecting Israeli cities during multiple regional conflicts.
The revelation comes amid escalating tensions across the Middle East, with concerns over drone attacks, missile strikes and disruptions to regional security continuing to rise following the Iran war.
The latest disclosure is also expected to intensify focus on the evolving military and diplomatic alignment between Israel and Gulf nations under the Abraham Accords framework.
