Delhi Police’s Anti-Narcotics Squad (East District) has busted an international drug syndicate, arresting four persons in connection with the case. According to officials, police also recovered a large quantity of psychotropic substances worth about Rs 1.1 crore in the illegal market, making this a significant seizure announced on Tuesday.
The accused include two alleged drug peddlers as well as two foreign nationals, who were identified as sources of supply. In addition, police seized two scooty used for transportation, one of which bore a fake number plate and was later found to be stolen. “The campaign against substance abuse is being carried out continuously to eradicate the drug menace,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Rajeev Kumar. He also added that all efforts are being made to ensure a drug-free society, highlighting the significance of this operation as a major breakthrough in that effort.
Police said a total of 120.18 grams of cocaine and 36.86 grams of MDMA, both classified as commercial quantities, were recovered during the operation. The case began on March 25 when the Anti-Narcotics Squad received specific information about a man identified as Mohd Hasan, who was allegedly supplying MDMA near Chitra Vihar Jhuggi and Kohinoor Hotel in Preet Vihar.
A trap was laid, and Hasan, a 23-year-old resident of Geeta Colony, was apprehended while riding a scooty. Police recovered 7.58 grams of MDMA from his possession. A case under the NDPS Act was registered at the Preet Vihar police station.
During interrogation, Hasan revealed that he sourced the drugs from an African national known as “Oscar,” who operated in areas near Outer Ring Road and Sriniwaspuri.
Acting on this lead, police teams conducted a late-night operation on March 27-28 and arrested Diouf Solomon, also known as Oscar, a 27-year-old resident of Senegal, near Sriniwaspuri. He was found carrying 4.43 grams of MDMA and was using a scooty with a fake number plate.
Verification revealed that the scooty had been stolen from Uttam Nagar in 2025. It was seized along with the contraband. Further investigation and technical surveillance led the police to a residence in Amrit Puri, where another accused, Bemah, a 30-year-old resident of Liberia, was arrested.
A search of the premises led to the recovery of 120.18 grams of cocaine and 15.71 grams of MDMA. Police also seized a weighing machine, packaging materials, an electronic sealing machine, six mobile phones, two passports, and cash.
In a subsequent operation on March 29, police arrested a fourth accused, Razia, from Mandawali. She was identified as a receiver and local distributor.
