Indian Army organises medical camp on World Health Day at Pengree

On the occasion of World Health Day, the Red Shield Gunners of the Indian Army, under the aegis of Spear Corps, organised a comprehensive Medical Camp at Pengree, Tinsukia, in coordination with the Red Cross Society, AANS and Pengree Tea Estate.
The initiative aimed at promoting health awareness and providing essential medical support to the local community.
The camp witnessed wide public participation and included health check-ups, diagnostic services including cancer screening, and awareness sessions on preventive healthcare.
Special focus was laid on women and child health, with distribution of sanitary pads, newborn care kits for new mothers and essential medicines for pregnant women.
The initiative served as a meaningful outreach effort, reinforcing the importance of accessible healthcare and community wellbeing. The active involvement of multiple stakeholders ensured the effective delivery of medical services and awareness at the grassroots level.
The programme reaffirmed the Indian Army’s continued commitment towards community welfare, health awareness and service to the nation, strengthening bonds with local communities.
